CEREC®

We are proud to offer our patients one of the most exciting and innovative dental technologies available today! We now provide our patients of having a crown made in one visit.  No more gooey impressions.  It’s a metal-free restoration.  No second visit required.

Introducing the CEREC® OMNICAM!

The CEREC Omnicam is the most advanced dental imaging unit available today.  Instead of taking traditional impressions for a “cap/crown”, we now offer the ability to create impressions of your damaged/broken tooth by using 3-D video capture technology.  The images of your teeth and gums on the computer screen will match what is in your mouth.

The CEREC Process

CEREC combines a camera, a computer, and a milling machine to design and create a crown/cap.  Dr. Ferraioli will use the video camera to image the damaged tooth to create an accurate impression.  Then, using CEREC's proprietary software, the crown will be designed to fit seamlessly into your mouth.  The information is then sent to the milling machine, where diamond burs create your restoration out of a piece of ceramic. Finally, the ceramic restoration is bonded to your tooth using state-of-the-art adhesive dentistry.

The Advantages of Choosing CEREC

Time: CEREC crowns are made in one visit, saving you considerable time away from your job and family.  The entire procedure is completed in about 90-120 minutes.

Comfort: There is no need for traditional impressions.  There is no need for a temporary crown.  A CEREC restoration allows us to preserve more healthy tooth structure than a traditional crown.

Aesthetics and Strength: The strong, tooth-colored ceramic materials of CEREC restore your teeth to their natural strength, beauty, and function and closely match the composition of natural tooth structure.

Fillings: CEREC material and technology can also be used for fillings. Since they are made out of porcelain, they are more durable than white composite fillings.
